Upcoming HR Challenges

Small shifts. Real HR problems. Five days to see something differently.

You do not need another HR webinar full of information you already know.

You probably don’t need another reminder to set boundaries, take care of yourself, or be more strategic either.

You may need a little space to look at what’s actually making the work so heavy.

Wayfindology challenges are short, practical experiences for HR managers and directors who care deeply about the work but are tired of carrying so much of it.

Each challenge focuses on one real HR problem, gives you a useful shift you can try immediately, and helps you leave with something tangible you can keep using after the five days are over.

The first challenges are planned for October.

Choose the challenge that sounds most like your HR life right now…

Challenge #1 - Carry Less Without Caring Less

You closed the laptop. HR is still running.

  • The employee issue.

  • The manager who may not follow through.

  • The risk you can already see.

  • The confidential situation you cannot really talk about.

  • The follow-up still running through your head after work.

You may be able to handle a lot.

That is probably part of why so much keeps landing on you.

Carry Less Without Caring Less is a five-day challenge designed to help you identify what’s making HR heavier than it needs to be and get clearer about what is truly yours to carry.

Over five days, we will look at:

Day 1: See what you are carrying
Name the HR weight that is taking up the most mental and emotional space.

Day 2: Sort what’s really yours
Separate real HR responsibility from responsibility that has quietly expanded beyond your role.

Day 3: Care without absorbing everything
Notice where empathy, responsibility, and emotional residue are getting tangled together.

Day 4: Find what keeps recreating the load
Look beneath the immediate issue for the manager, leadership, culture, or system pattern keeping it alive.

Day 5: Build your HR Carry-Less Plan
Choose a few practical shifts that can make the work feel clearer, lighter, and more sustainable.

You’ll leave with:

A simple personal HR Carry-Less Plan that identifies:

  • what you want to stop holding in your head

  • what responsibility needs clearer ownership

  • what recurring pattern needs attention

  • what can change so less of the work follows you home

This is not about caring less.

It is about doing meaningful HR work without being consumed by every hard thing inside it.

Challenge #2 - Get Out of HR Cleanup Mode

Different fire. Same pattern.

  • The employee complaints.

  • The manager who avoids feedback.

  • The turnover problem.

  • The culture issue.

  • The escalation that should never have reached this point.

You know how to handle the fire in front of you.

The harder part is finding enough space to address what keeps starting it.

Get Out of HR Cleanup Mode is a five-day challenge for HR leaders who are tired of solving the same people problems in different forms.

Instead of treating each issue as a separate event, we will take one recurring HR fire and trace it back to the pattern underneath it.

Over five days, we will look at:

Day 1: Name the recurring fire
Choose one HR issue that keeps returning.

Day 2: Find the pattern underneath it
Look for the manager, leadership, ownership, culture, or system issue connecting the dots.

Day 3: Clarify who owns what
Separate what belongs to HR from what belongs to managers, leaders, employees, or the organization.

Day 4: Turn the fire into useful leadership insight
Move from “another employee issue” to a pattern you can see and act on.

Day 5: Move one thing upstream
Choose one practical prevention step instead of another cleanup response.

You will leave with:

A clearer picture of:

  • what keeps recreating the issue

  • where ownership is weak or unclear

  • which deeper pattern deserves attention

  • one practical way to begin moving the work upstream

Because strategic HR is not separate from the employee problem in front of you. It is how you help prevent the next one.

What the challenges will be like

These will not be five days of long presentations or homework piled onto an already full HR week.

The goal is useful movement without creating another obligation.

Expect:

  • short daily teaching

  • one practical idea or tool each day

  • a small action you can apply to real HR work

  • opportunities to reflect and interact

  • a practical outcome by the end of the week

  • a thoughtful, HR-specific approach that understands some of the responsibility really is yours

You will not be asked to share confidential employee details.

We will work with patterns, roles, decisions, ownership, and the impact the work is having on you.

Be the first to know when registration opens

If one or both of these challenges sound like something you need, please join the interest list.

I will send you the details when dates and registration open.

No pressure. No giant email funnel.

Just first access when the challenge is ready.

Meaningful HR impact should not require self-loss.

  • You can care deeply about employees.

  • You can take risk seriously.

  • You can help leaders through hard things.

  • You can still be good at HR.

And you can begin changing how much of the work has to live in your head, body, evenings, and personal life.

Less Grind. More Leadership genius.

Being able to carry it does not mean I need to.
